The contract is the source of truth
Reads and writes go to the Intelligent Contract once PUBLIC_CONTRACT_ADDRESS is set. The server never signs.
Wallet-signed writes
submit, challenge, and resolve are signed client-side via genlayer-js. No private key lives in the repo.
Equivalence Principle
Validators inspect independently. Verdicts must match exactly. Reasoning may differ in wording.
Fail-safe inspection
Unreachable or private-host sources resolve as inconclusive. A broken URL cannot brick a docket.
Specific reverts
Self-challenge, double-challenge, late challenge, mismatched stake, pause, and replay each have a named error.
Open and citable
MIT licensed. Every closed docket is a public serial with claim, stakes, verdict, and reasoning.

- Is this on-chain, or a demo?
- The Intelligent Contract is the source of truth. Until you paste a Studio-deployed address into PUBLIC_CONTRACT_ADDRESS, the app runs a faithful rehearsal of the same state machine so the product is usable. The UI labels that state clearly. Writes are never signed by the server.
- What happens if nobody challenges?
- After the window closes, anyone can resolve. The original claim stands and the submitter’s stake is returned in full. No protocol fee — there was no opposing stake and no validator work.
- What if validators cannot fetch the source?
- The docket resolves as inconclusive. Both stakes are refunded minus the protocol fee. A broken URL cannot brick the pipeline or punish the other side.
- Who can trigger resolution?
- Anyone, once the docket is challenged or the challenge window has expired. Resolution is a public good, not a privileged role.
- Can I challenge my own filing?
- No. Self-challenge, double-challenge, late challenge, mismatched stake, and paused-state writes all revert with a specific error.
